To Review Configuration Items

The Customer Portal enables you to search for and view the details of configuration items that have been enabled with Portal access.

To begin your search, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Review Configuration Items menu option. The Review Configuration Items page is displayed.
  2. Select one of the following options: Your Config Items, Organization Config Items or All Config Items

·         Selecting Your Config Items will instruct the system to search for and return results on config items that are enabled for request or active against your user role.

·         Selecting Organization Config Items will instruct the system to search for and return results on config items that are enabled and in use for your organization. If you are not linked to an organization, this option will not be displayed.

·         Selecting All Config Items will instruct the system to search for and return results on all config items where the permission to view has been enabled for your user role. This could include config items that are enabled and active for other organizations or users.

Only config items that have been enabled for viewing via the Customer Portal is displayed.

The options available for you to set your search criteria are based on your user profile. For more information, view the topic User Roles.

  1. Select the Summary Only option if you want the search results to be displayed in a summarized format; otherwise, you can leave this field blank.
  2. If you are searching for a specific config item and you know the config item reference, type the reference in the Config Item Ref field.
  3. From the Config Item Type list, select a config item type.
  4. Click OK to view the search results. Your search results are displayed on the Review Past/ Current Incidents page. If you selected the Summary Only option in step 3, the Config Item Summary page is displayed. You can view more details about a config item by clicking . To return to the Review Configuration Items page, click the Back button.
